The power door locks on my 2001 Ford Explorer will not unlock when the weather gets down to freezing temperatures

10/28/2011

The power door locks on my 2001 Ford Explorer will not unlock when the weather gets down to freezing temperatures. I can hear the lock engaging when I press my keyless remote but the knob will not pop up and even my key will not unlock it. Please give me some suggestions as to what the problem could be. Thank you.

Sounds like a door lock rod clip has broken. It's a common issue among Fords. Remove your door panel and inspect the Ross and clips and replace the broken clip. The clip can be bought at your favorite parts store.
