Alfred State Offers Individual Automotive Parts Technology Parts Management Course

12/16/2011

ALFRED, N.Y. — Alfred State College and the automotive trades department are now offering individual courses in parts management. These courses are designed to help individuals obtain an understanding of management, inventory control and basic computer skills.

The need for parts managers and employees to understand the fundamental principles of store management continues to grow and expand. The programs in auto parts management along with a corporate training program meet the challenges in today’s aftermarket, according to the college. Students who have already taken the program agree that these courses have helped them in obtaining these necessary skills, according to Alfred State.

Within these management courses, subject matter such as inventory demand and replenishment, understanding safety stock and parts life cycle keep our program graduates at the forefront of the discipline. Also included are the importance of understanding the management position; identifying financial reports associated with management position; and understanding leadership roles and styles. Two graduates of the program include recent recipients of Counterman’s Counter Professional of the Year award.

Registration is now opened and those who are interested can register at www.alfredstated.edu or contact Gerald Ives, assistant professor at ivesga@alfredstate.edu for more information.
