KEARNEY, Neb. — At the recent annual Automotive Content Professionals Network (ACPN) Knowledge Exchange conference, WHI Solutions announced Baldwin Filters/Hastings Premium Filters was the recipient of their WHI Best in Class award in the Electronic Data Excellence category.

The Auto Care Association (ACA) led the development of the ACES (Automotive Content Enhanced Standard) and PIES (Product Information Enhanced Standard) standards for use by both the automotive and heavy-duty industry. The cataloging group at Baldwin Filters started the process in 2010 to implement both standards and to distribute electronic data to the company’s electronic data partners (e-cats) on a monthly basis. Distribution of PIES data to Baldwin’s e-cat partners started in early 2011, while ACES was first sent to Baldwin’s e-cat partners in the fall of 2012.

Providing the data was not enough to win the WHI award. Baldwin’s exceptional customer support, provided along with this data, tipped the scales in the favor of Baldwin when determining the winner. All of this was done while implementing a new cataloging system database, which was no small feat in itself.
