ENEOS Launches 0W-16 Motor Oil With Next Generation Technology

ENEOS 0W-16 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil is formulated with 100 percent synthetic base oils and the company's unique additive technology.

eneos-fuelJX Nippon Oil & Energy USA Inc. is pleased to announce that ENEOS 0W-16 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil, developed with the next generation technology of JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp., is scheduled to launch on Dec. 16, 2016 in the USA and Canada.

Due to growing environmental concern, resulting in new fuel economy regulations, JX has set a corporate mission to take a leading role in helping reach improved goals through its products. Using the company’s advanced in-house research and technology, JX developed a new ultimate low viscosity motor oil, ENEOS 0W-16 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil, in conjunction with Japanese auto makers.

ENEOS 0W-16 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil is formulated with 100 percent synthetic base oils and the company’s unique additive technology. ENEOS 0W-16 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil is next generation motor oil with ultimate low viscosity, which can provide a maximum of 2% fuel savings over 0W-20 oils.*1 ENEOS 0W-16 provides exceptional engine protection thanks to its superior anti-wear performance and oil film retention capacity delivered by our proprietary technology.

Japanese auto makers have been using 0W-16 for their factory fills and service fills in Japan.  JX Group manufactures and supplies 0W-16 oils officially certified by Japanese auto makers to both their factories and dealerships. ENEOS 0W-16 is highly acclaimed by customers.

“As technical requirements for oils are different depending on engine type, we ran tests with many types of engines to provide the best performance where 0W-16 is recommended. In addition, lower viscosity can cause lower lubricity,” said Hiroya Miyamoto, a Senior Manager at JX Nippon Oil & Energy USA Inc., who was formerly Senior Staff of the Lubricants Research Laboratory at JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp. “In order to solve the trade-off of protection for performance, it was necessary to precisely design optimal viscosity and carefully select additives. After full analysis, ENEOS 0W-16 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil was successfully developed. I am very confident ENEOS 0W-16 can not only provide outstanding fuel saving performance, but it will also offer exceptional engine protection.”

ENEOS 0W-16 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil has already launched in Japan and has been widely used for cars, including hybrid and ECO vehicles, where 0W-16 is specified. JX Nippon Oil & Energy, a leading company implementing top-tier performance and fuel saving technology, recommends ENEOS 0W-16 Fully Synthetic Motor Oil as the next generation motor oil to the US and Canada, where demand for 0W-16 oil is expected to increase in future.
