SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Federal-Mogul Motorparts’ new line of Wagner OEX replacement brake pads received a prestigious award for product packaging during the 2015 Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, Nev.

Wagner OEX pads, which stop pickups, sport utility vehicles and crossovers up to 50 feet sooner1, were selected as having the best new packaging in the marketing category of the annual AAPEX Packaging Showcase. The competition is judged by leaders of PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. Federal-Mogul Motorparts is a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp.

The award-winning packaging is the first to hit the market featuring the Wagner brand’s new,  distinctively modern look and feel. The new Wagner OEX packaging highlights the game-changing, patent-pending design of the brake pads, which feature sophisticated shapes and precision-engineered slots and cuts that enhance performance by increasing turbulent airflow, allowing for cooler operation and improved stopping power, the company says. Leading pad features and benefits are presented in clear, appealing graphics against a clean, white background.

“Wagner OEX brake pads establish new benchmarks for innovation, quality and performance, and each of these messages is embodied in our distinctive new packaging,” said Christine Fisher, group brand manager, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “Anyone who examines the package, whether on a shelf, at a parts counter or in an automotive service facility, will realize that Wagner OEX pads offer unique and compelling advantages for today’s SUVs, crossovers and light trucks.”

Additional benefits of Wagner OEX brake pads include reduced rotor wear and dusting and up to two times longer pad life2. These characteristics are particularly important on pickups, SUVs and CUVs – North America’s largest and fastest growing vehicle segment – which often encounter a wider range of loads and more challenging operating conditions.

Wagner conducted extensive in-market testing involving more than 400 U.S. technicians and service locations. Ninety-nine percent of automotive professionals included in this testing reported that Wagner OEX pads provide a higher level of quality, offer premium-level appearance and are noticeably different than other brake pads. Ninety-five percent of participants indicated they are likely to recommend OEX pads to their customers and other professionals.
