Motul Announced As The Official Lubricant Partner Of The Subaru Rally Team Canada

Motul continues to research and secure partnerships with teams and organizations that will launch their lubricant brand name into untapped markets and racing communities.

Motul, an international machine lubricants manufacturer, designer, and developer committed to servicing a variety of demands from car products and powersport products, to heavy-duty products and other applications, this week was officially named as the official lubricant partner of the Subaru Rally Team Canada (SRTC) for 2017.

Having been competing in this dynamic series since 1992, and in that time, winning multiple Open Class and Production Class titles, SRTC have formed a partnership with Motul as their official lubricant partner for 2017.

“It is our goal to take the Motul brand name into popular racing circuits embedded in North America’s culture,” said Guillaume Pailleret, president of Motul, North America. “Partnering with the SRTC as well as the Canadian Rally Championship for the year ahead provides our operation with great potential for exposure and establishing Canadian networks.”

SRTC’s vehicles are maintained and serviced by Rocket Rally Racing, the only Canadian-based motorsports organization to have won both the Canadian and American rally championships in the last 20 years. They boast an impressive seven National Overall Rally Championships, as well as five North American Titles. Rocket Rally Racing participates in the Canadian Rally Championship, the American Rally Association championships.

After a long hiatus, this partnership marks Motul’s first year partnering with Subaru Rally Team Canada/Rocket Rally in over a decade.

“Motul is the premier lubricants brand in motorsports and we are excited to be back together again,” explained Patrick Richard, CEO of Rocket Rally Racing, the company that engineers and operates the cars run by Subaru Rally Team Canada, out of Squamish, B.C. “We had a great partnership many years ago, when I was a driver, and this agreement renews our goal of being on the podium at every event we enter,” he explained.

SRTC is the factory rally team for Subaru Canada. In 2016 Subaru Rally Team Canada driver, Antoine L’Estage, a 9-time Canadian Drivers Champion and his 2016 co-driver, Darren Garrod won the Canadian Rally Championships. and in doing so awarded Subaru Canada a record 12th manufacturer title. For 2017, Antoine is rejoined by Alan Ockwell – a 4- time Canadian Co-Drivers Champion – to campaign for another record title.

“We are excited to re-ignite this partnership with Rocket Rally after a long absence,” said Li-Jay Chu, Motul Communications & Activation Manager for North America. “This partnership is going to give us the ability to demonstrate the technical strengths of our engine oils and lubricants, and we’re incredibly excited to see it in action at this year’s Canadian Rally Championship.”

Passionate about providing affordable, high-quality lubricant products to consumers, businesses, and organizations around the world, Motul continues to research and secure partnerships with teams and organizations that will launch their lubricant brand name into untapped markets and racing communities.

The Canadian Rally Championship’s first gravel event for 2017 (and second event of the year) will kick off in May, with STRC as a favored team. The Canadian Rally Championship series was officially launched in 1957, making it the longest-running national motorsport series in Canada. The championship is comprised of seven rounds: three in British Columbia, one in Ontario, and three in Quebec.
