Sparks Fly During ACDelco Demonstration

Hot rod builder uses Tesla Coil to demonstrate spark plug technology.

adam-geneiGRAND BLANC, Mich. — The latest installment of a new ACDelco video campaign exploring the science behind seemingly common automotive replacement parts uses an 18,000 volt Tesla Coil — a large electrical coil named after its inventor Nikolai Tesla—to demonstrate the properties of electricity that make spark plugs work.

The unlikely science professor is Adam Genei, host of NBC’s Mobsteel and respected hot rod builder.

“Using the power of video storytelling and Adam Genei’s technical expertise, we can share why it’s so important to choose a trusted brand like ACDelco for replacement parts,” said Heather Waszczenko, ACDelco national brand manager. “Since the series launched earlier this year, the content and message seems to be resonating with the trade audience and with others following us socially. People are watching and engaging with the campaign—this tells us we’ve struck the right cord.”

The new campaign is called “Be Certain,” and it was influenced by consistent feedback from service professionals in the independent aftermarket, who provided compelling reasons why they choose ACDelco. They said they know they can trust ACDelco parts to fit the first time, provide quality and durability, and can count on the brand to provide the right training and business support.

The campaign explores the science behind other vehicle technologies, as well as the benefits of choosing genuine ACDelco parts. To watch the complete series, visit the ACDelco Channel on YouTube.
