Tool Expo West Pays Out Big In Vegas

Tool Expo West featured more than 90,000 SKUs from more than 150 vendors and hosted training events by Power Probe, Ingersoll Rand, Bosch, Can Do, Wilton Jet, Associated Equipment and Sunex.

LAKELAND, Fla. — Integrated Supply Network (ISN) hosted hundreds of customers at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas for Tool Expo West March 17-18. Manufacturers launched first to market products, customers took advantage of nuclear deals, cash back and won incredible prizes like a 2017 Ford F150 and Harley Davidson. Tool Expo West gave away over $1million in cash and prizes this past weekend. Without a doubt, Tool Expo West 2017 was a huge success, organizers say.

As the largest national tool and equipment distributor, it should come as no surprise that ISN hosts the nation’s largest, most exciting and successful tool and equipment distribution trade shows in the industry. ISN is well known for Tool Dealer Expo, the national tool and equipment trade show in Orlando in June. 3 years ago they launched Tool Expo West taking place in March on the West coast, first in Phoenix, Arizona and this year moved it to Las Vegas. Tool Dealer Expo and now Tool Expo West have clearly made a mark on the industry as they continue to grow in attendance and offer bigger prizes every year.

Tool Expo West featured more than 90,000 SKUs from more than 150 vendors and hosted training events by Power Probe, Ingersoll Rand, Bosch, Can Do, Wilton Jet, Associated Equipment and Sunex. Milwaukee launched their new tool storage line at Tool Expo West and we had several brand new vendors introduce their products at the show: Cojali (diagnostic equipment), ShopSol (creepers and seats), Suncast (disposal equipment), Spin Secure (dash cams), World Tech Toys (drones) and Hofmann Megaplan (tire service equipment).

Ingersoll Rand brought the energy in their booth with big cash giveaways, product demos and an Irish dance performance. This helped Ingersoll Rand to take home the vendor award for “Most Spirit”. Vampire Tools won the “Best Product Demonstration” award, PM Holdings (Tech-Life and GTE brands) won “Best New Product” for their 8-pint mini keg and tap system launched under their newest brand KegSmiths, and World Tech Toys (drones) won “Best New Vendor.”

Tool Expo West finished the event with a happy hour on Saturday night where customers won a 2017 Ford F150, 2017 Harley Davidson, $10,000 Cash, an OTC Encore, Sunex Mechanic’s Dream prize package, Cruzin’ Coolers from Steelman Pro, a 72” Extreme tool box, two $3000 cash prize winners courtesy of Ingersoll Rand, two $2,000 cash prize winners courtesy of Wilton Jet, $2,500 cash prize courtesy of Power Probe, $1,000 cash prize courtesy of Lincoln/Mityvac, and three $2500 VISA gift card winners courtesy of Tool Expo West. Needless to say, with that many awesome prizes it was hard not to leave Tool Expo West energized.

ISN’s events offer world-class training, major product launches from manufacturers, best pricing all year long and an energy throughout the event that you just can’t get anywhere else. We invite you to come and leave fully motivated to grow your business.

“Thank you to all of our customers that participated in Tool Expo West and we look forward to seeing many of you in June for Tool Dealer Expo Orlando,” said Scott Pilkenton, VP marketing. Tool Dealer Expo will be June 30-July 1 at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Fl.

Customer Service: How It’s Done

Customer service should be your number one priority, and it all starts with the greeting.

This is always an important topic to discuss, because I consider excellent customer service one of the most important tools you can have to earn trust, respect and repeat business from the customers that come through your door. Whether that customer is do-it-yourselfer from across town or the professional repair shop across the street, your business depends on a solid relationship. It’s a subject that I am passionate about, and it’s one that many people are losing touch with. Whether you are communicating to someone in person, on the phone or using some type of social media, good customer service and bad can both exist. You can’t afford the latter, so this is the first in a series of topics which can and should be shared from the front of the shop to the back. No matter which role you hold, you represent the shop and yourself. Customer service should be your number one priority.First on the list is the greeting. From the second a customer walks in the door, they need to know you appreciate them coming in and how important they are to your business. First impressions are everything and here’s the correct way to do it each and every time: look them directly in the eye, smile and say hello!Of course, you can say “Good morning” or “Welcome to Joe’s Autocare,” but it should be a formal greeting and the most important thing is that you have smiled, looked them in the eye and recognized that they have walked through the door. You should always retain a formal greeting until you are on a first-name basis with a customer. Only once you have established that level of relationship is it OK to use the less formal greeting of “Hi,” followed by the person’s name. This greeting does more than just indicate respect and appreciation for someone walking through the door. Most likely there are customers both new and old who are in earshot of your conversation. For newer customers, this continues to build rapport and reinforce their positive view of your shop; they see that you demonstrate respect and treat everyone in the same manner. For repeat customers, even ones that have been coming for years, the greeting is important because the way you treat them is the reason they continue to come. And when a long-time customer comes in and you greet them with “Hi [First Name],” this indicates your appreciation for them and that you’re glad to see them as a person, more than just a customer. New customers that witness this will see that your repeat customers are comfortable enough to be on a first-name basis, another indication of the trust they have in you.
