SOUTHFIELD, Mich. — Federal-Mogul’s Wagner Brake brand has introduced the aftermarket’s first replacement brake pads for the 2014 Acura RLX sedan. These Wagner ThermoQuiet CeramicNXT front disc brake pads (No. QC1697) feature one of the exclusive 2021-compliant Wagner OE21 low-copper friction formulations, which are 35 percent quieter and offer 15 percent more stopping power and up to 40 percent greater fade resistance than previous Wagner ceramic formulations, the company says.
“As Wagner Brake extends its leadership in advanced low-copper friction technology for the aftermarket, we are pleased to also be the first in the industry to develop replacement pads for this application,” said Christopher Battershell, director, braking, North America, Federal-Mogul Vehicle Components segment. “Automotive service providers and parts professionals can help customers ensure superior, quiet braking with the latest in low-copper technology simply by choosing Wagner ThermoQuiet CeramicNXT brake pads.”
Wagner ThermoQuiet CeramicNXT brake pads with OE21 technology are the aftermarket’s first full-line offering of certified 2021-compliant low-copper formulations. Recent legislation in California and Washington state mandates that copper content be reduced to less than 5 percent (“Low Copper”) by 2021 and less than 0.5 percent (“Zero Copper”) by 2025. As the number-one global manufacturer of friction for the total OE and replacement market, Federal-Mogul and Wagner Brake have taken the lead in developing eco-friendly, low-copper formulations that also provide across-the-board improvements in brake pad performance, the company says.
