A customer has a 1999 ford explorer 4.0 sohc.he has bought a master pro wheel bearing and it has failed twice.? what could be causing this to fail.would there be something else wrong with the truck?

Incorrect spindle nut torque could cause repeated failures of a front hub assembly. This could be a result of under/overtightening of the spindle nut, damage or excessive wear on the CV joint spindle threads, or damage/wear/loss of torque from reusing the original spindle nut instead of replacing it with a new one.   Tom Dayton

I have a 1999 Honda Civic 1.6 SOHC and once in a while it will overheat while idling. It will do that on and off for a day or two. Could it be the thermostat?

A sticking thermostat is usually a consistent problem and also affects overheating at highway speeds. If the problem is intermittently occurring at idle, an electric cooling fan relay is more likely the cause. (There are two or three of them in the fuse/relay box). The fan motor, sold as an assembly or an open wiring

I have a 1999 Chevy Z71 with 5.3 and it’s starting to burn a lot of gas.

I have a 1999 Z71 with the 5.3. On cold morning starts, it’s hesitant and you have to really mash on the gas pedal to go. I was wondering if this is a common problem?

The question is what is the operating temperature when you start off on these cold mornings? If you do not let the engine get up to 210 degrees it may be a false reading in the computer and that almost always can lead back to the coolant temp sensor. —Gerald Wheelus Edgewood Auto Parts #253,

I have a 1999 Nissan Sentra and the check engine light comes on and goes off constantly.

I have a 1999 Nissan Sentra and the check engine light comes on and goes off constantly.

Every time I had it checked, I get a cylinder one misfire. I have also noticed that when the air temp seems to be “just right”, the light remains off and the car runs great. But if it is too hot or cold, the light is on and the car runs very rough. I have changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and the ambient temperature sensor (thinking it’s an air/fuel ratio problem). Nothing works.

The only other issue I can think of is a clogged injector but then why the on-again, off-again? Any ideas what the issue might be? Thanks

I have a 1999 Dodge Avenger with the check engine light on. Code comes back with emissions gross leak. I changed the gas cap and reset code but came back on. I don’t see any gas leaking on the ground either. Any suggestions?
