ALFRED, N.Y. — Alfred State College and its automotive parts technology curriculum offer individual courses designed to help automotive parts professionals gain a better understanding of automotive parts operations. These courses are for spring 2012 and can be taken individually or as part of the automotive parts technology program to earn an associate in applied science (AAS) degree:
•Cataloging and Pricing: Understanding the basic format and components used in pricing. This includes the understanding of pricing and correct ways to interpret and develop prices, concluding with utilizing these principles in with selling techniques. 7.5 weeks, 3 credit hours, 2 lectures per week.
•Automotive Parts Inventory Control: Understanding and using practical characteristics of controlling inventory in store operations. 15 weeks, 3 credit hours, 1 lecture per week.
•Parts Management II: A familiarization with the aspects of automotive parts management from the understanding of financials, management responsibilities and objectives, and individual personnel development. 7.5 weeks, 3 credits, 2 lectures per week.
These courses are presented with the latest technological advancement in online education. Each course utilizes asynchronous (live) classroom recording of lectures that can be reviewed time and again by students at their own pace.
Cost of these courses are $525/course. Scholarships of $300/course are available.
