ASE Certification Testing Now Available All Year

The new testing cycle effectively increases the availability of appointment times by 50 percent.

LEESBURG, Va. — The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has changed its testing schedule to allow year-round access for automotive professionals. ASE testing is now available 12 months out of the year. Whether a candidate registers on the first day of a registration window or the last, they will always have 90 days to schedule an appointment and take a certification test at any of the 450-plus Prometric test centers across the country.

“This new testing schedule is designed to eliminate the last-minute crush and improve access to convenient dates and times at the testing centers,” said Tim Zilke, ASE president and CEO. “While ASE certification will still have quarterly registration cycles in winter, spring, summer and fall, the testing will be continuous. Certifications will expire in June and December, the same as before.”

The new testing cycle effectively increases the availability of appointment times by 50 percent. You can find all the information on the ASE certification program, including registration deadlines, links to ASE Study Guides, recorded webinars to help you prepare and even a free “test drive” link to experience the computer based testing format on the ASE website at www.ase.com.

The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was established in 1972 as a non-profit organization to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians and parts specialists.

Today, there are more than 300,000 ASE-certified professionals at work in dealerships, independent shops, collision repair shops, auto parts stores, fleets, schools and colleges throughout the country. For more information about ASE, visit the Web site at www.ase.com.
