While celebrating the nonprofit cooperative’s 45th year, the group maintained its dedication and resolve to promote “Allies for Success” as a reminder to all shareholders and suppliers that the organization’s strength and prosperity lies in the unity created by beneficial partnerships forged between all stakeholders.

APA recognized new shareholders and honored outstanding suppliers during a March 21 event at The Backyard in Dallas.

“We had a great time in a relaxed social gathering, without all the stuffy formalities that can make people nervous about coming up to accept an award,” said Jim Holmquist, 2019 APA chairman of the board of directors. “The venue’s atmosphere was casual and light, and everyone really enjoyed themselves, which made a great environment to connect and create new networking relationships between our shareholders and suppliers.”

APA presented awards to the following organizations for their outstanding contributions to APA initiatives in 2018:

  • Outstanding Technology Initiatives Partner – WHI Solutions
  • Outstanding Marketing Partner – KYB Shocks
  • Outstanding Marketing Partner – MAHLE
  • Distinguished Original Equipment Partner – Bosch
  • Cornerstone Award – Centric Parts
  • HQ Supplier of the Year – BBB Industries
  • New Supplier of the Year – NewTek Automotive
  • Approved Supplier of the Year – Dorman
  • Preferred Supplier of the Year – US Motor Works

In addition, APA recognized these new shareholders: Motovicity Distribution of Madison Heights, Michigan; Name South of Mooresville, South Carolina; and Pennstone Supply of McVeytown, Pennsylvania.

APA recognized Independent Parts Warehouse of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, as the first recipient of the new APA Line-Backer Award for changing over the most product lines to APA programs, while Ramac Industries of Minden, Nevada, and T&L Distributing of Temecula, California, received the Milestone Awards for celebrating 32 and 30 years of business in the aftermarket industry, respectively.
