This past weekend, Automotive Parts Associates sent the winner of the Professionals’ Choice Auto Parts Win Place Show promotion to the Kentucky Derby.
From January through March, APA’s Shareholders ran the Win Place Show Promotion at their locations across North America. Each time a customer purchased a product from one of the supporting manufacturers they received an entry form to win one of three prizes. The third place “show” winner was with Dekkers Automotive in Wellandport, Ontario. The company is a customer of Young Automotive Professionals/Bestbuy Distributors Ltd.
Dekkers’ winner took home a $500 gift certificate. The second place winner received a $1,000 certificate and is from Gasoline Alley Tune Up in Indianapolis, a customer of Speedway Automotive. The grand prize winner is from Junge Automotive in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a customer of I.W.I. Motor Parts, headquartered in Dubuque, Iowa.
The winner and his guest enjoyed the Kentucky Derby in style. Everything was provided, including round‐trip airfare, ground transfers, three nights’ hotel accommodations, clubhouse covered seating at Churchill Downs with private club access to both the Kentucky Oaks on Friday and the Kentucky Derby on Saturday along with a special tour of the stables on Friday morning.
The promotion’s sponsoring manufacturers were: Airtex Fuel, ASC Industries, Bosch, CARDONE Industries, Denso, Dorman, Federal-Mogul, Gates, KYB, MAS, NGK/NTK, SKF and UCI‐FRAM Group.

Less Is More With Cordless Work Lights

There are huge safety and efficiency benefits of LED lights for your professional automotive service and repair customers.

In the case of cordless lights, there is a lot more, starting with more light! The light comes from Light Emitting Diode, or LED, technology. When they were first invented, LEDs were a revolutionary development of electrical science, affecting virtually every aspect of our lives.

Now LED lights are everywhere, and we’re all familiar with them, even in our homes, but the automotive industry has reaped the benefits as much as, if not more than, any other industry. Just like a diode, LEDs allow current flow in only one direction. When current, or electron flow occurs, photons are released.
