I have a 2001 Olsmobile Alero 3.4 V6. The heater only blows hot air when under acceleration or cruising at highway speed. Coolant is full and circulating, and there are no problems with engine temperature. The thermostat was recently replaced because the previous owner took it out for some reason. Now the engine is at the correct operating temperature but the heat is sporadic. Suggestions? Could this be a symptom of a heater valve failing? Possible clogged (or clogging) heater core? Why would it only work sometimes?

I have some questions about R-134 air conditioning systems.

I have some questions about R-134 air conditioning systems. With the high temperatures of south Texas this summer, the low side pressure has been increased by about 5psi in the heat of the day on various vehicles. Is the increase in pressure caused by air in the system expanding and being pushed through the system by the compressor? This is resulting in air conditioning not being as cold because of the pressure build. If this is the case, what is the best way to bleed the air out of the system?

I have been working on a 1993 Saturn LS 1.9 DOHC, and it has a DTC of 26, QDM Failure.

I have been working on a 1993 Saturn LS 1.9 DOHC, and it has a DTC of 26, QDM Failure. So far we’ve replaced the coolant temp sensor, due to the fact that it seemed to be a little loose (the plastic was about ready to break off). And I checked for vacuum leaks, ensured the EGR valve wasn’t stuck, and replaced the map sensor. Any other suggestions or could you shed some light on the QDM and what it does exactly?
