Dayco To Present At Michigan Safety Conference

The Michigan Safety Conference is a two-day workplace health and safety conference held every April.

Dayco-Garrett-StrickerDayco has announced Garrett Stricker, global environmental, health and safety manager, will speak at the 2016 Michigan Safety Conference, from April 19-20, at DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The Michigan Safety Conference is a two-day workplace health and safety conference held every April. The conference is a non-profit organization run by volunteers in the workplace health and safety fields in all types of Michigan businesses. The conference hosts more than 130 training programs as well as many live demonstrations and hands-on simulations.

“At Dayco, we make the safety of our employees a top priority. We strive to provide a safe workplace and limit any environmental impacts through the cooperation of personnel at all levels of the organization,” said Stricker. “I look forward to sharing our best practices with the attendees of the 2016 Michigan Safety Conference.”

During Stricker’s session, “Safety Kaizen Events,” attendees will learn steps to integrate a team Kaizen event around safety and environmental issues in order to drive risk reduction. Attendees also will learn how to integrate the lean manufacturing tool of Kaizen, a systematic approach and problem-solving tool that is integral to the Dayco Production System, into safety management. The Dayco Production System is the company’s overall business model to achieve operational excellence with objectives of improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale and environment.

Conference officials expect more than 200 exhibitors and 2,000 attendees will be present at the 2016 event. Additional information regarding registration, programs, exhibits, award winners, sponsorships and more can be found at michsafetyconference.org or by calling Denise McGinn, executive director, at conference headquarters at 1-517-203-0737.
