Delphi Product & Service Solutions Launches More Than 260 New SKUs

The fuel category widens its portfolio by adding 53 new fuel pump module assemblies, 11 new fuel pump and strainer sets and one new electric fuel pump.

Delphi Product & Service Solutions (DPSS) announces new numbers for its fuel, engine management and steering and suspension products for North America.

As an already trusted company for fuel, Delphi is continually helping its customers grow in several major categories for automotive parts. Delphi has come far since it began manufacturing screw-tight mechanical fuel pumps in the 1930s. Their fuel modules and pumps have been designed and manufactured with parts our customers can rely on for over 80 years.

The fuel category widens its portfolio by adding 53 new fuel pump module assemblies, 11 new fuel pump and strainer sets and one new electric fuel pump. This new electric fuel pump covers more than 14 million vehicles. The broadening fuel category also includes 16 new fuel transfer units that cover more than 3.4 million vehicles and a new fuel tank sending unit that covers over 340,000 vehicles.

Did you know that Delphi is a leading manufacturer of OE MAF sensors? Did you also know that all Delphi sensors feature plated pins that protect against corrosion by assisting in conductivity and minimizing the chance of failure. The Delphi engine management portfolio expands by adding nine new MAF sensors to cover more than 990,000 vehicles and one new coolant temperature sensor covering over 3.2 million vehicles. Delphi even continues their expansion by including eight new manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensors covering over 1.9 million vehicles and two new throttle position sensors that cover over 139,000 vehicles.

Just like Delphi’s engine management and fuel categories, its steering and suspension widened its portfolio for its customers, as well. The steering and suspension category announced 160 new parts that are covering more than 20 million vehicles on the road today. Not only does Delphi’s steering and suspension line cover more than 20 million vehicles from 1935 to 2016 in the US and Canada, but it also offers OE performance and precision in every single part made. “We’re excited to announce more than 260 new applications to the aftermarket,” says Chad Smith, Vice President, North America and Global Remanufacturing.

“With our plans to grow even further in the coming years, we are committed to serving the needs of our customers and helping to ensure that technicians can continue to trust Delphi for parts that mean successful repairs, every single time.” About Delphi: Delphi Automotive PLC is a high-technology company that integrates safer, greener and more connected solutions for the automotive and transportation sectors.

Headquartered in Gillingham, U.K., Delphi operates technical centers, manufacturing sites and customer support services in 46 countries.

Customer Service: How It’s Done

Customer service should be your number one priority, and it all starts with the greeting.

This is always an important topic to discuss, because I consider excellent customer service one of the most important tools you can have to earn trust, respect and repeat business from the customers that come through your door. Whether that customer is do-it-yourselfer from across town or the professional repair shop across the street, your business depends on a solid relationship. It’s a subject that I am passionate about, and it’s one that many people are losing touch with. Whether you are communicating to someone in person, on the phone or using some type of social media, good customer service and bad can both exist. You can’t afford the latter, so this is the first in a series of topics which can and should be shared from the front of the shop to the back. No matter which role you hold, you represent the shop and yourself. Customer service should be your number one priority.First on the list is the greeting. From the second a customer walks in the door, they need to know you appreciate them coming in and how important they are to your business. First impressions are everything and here’s the correct way to do it each and every time: look them directly in the eye, smile and say hello!Of course, you can say “Good morning” or “Welcome to Joe’s Autocare,” but it should be a formal greeting and the most important thing is that you have smiled, looked them in the eye and recognized that they have walked through the door. You should always retain a formal greeting until you are on a first-name basis with a customer. Only once you have established that level of relationship is it OK to use the less formal greeting of “Hi,” followed by the person’s name. This greeting does more than just indicate respect and appreciation for someone walking through the door. Most likely there are customers both new and old who are in earshot of your conversation. For newer customers, this continues to build rapport and reinforce their positive view of your shop; they see that you demonstrate respect and treat everyone in the same manner. For repeat customers, even ones that have been coming for years, the greeting is important because the way you treat them is the reason they continue to come. And when a long-time customer comes in and you greet them with “Hi [First Name],” this indicates your appreciation for them and that you’re glad to see them as a person, more than just a customer. New customers that witness this will see that your repeat customers are comfortable enough to be on a first-name basis, another indication of the trust they have in you.
