ELGIN, Ill. For the second consecutive year, Elgin Industries has received the highest supplier rating through the John Deere Achieving Excellence Program. Elgin is a supplier of a broad range of internal engine components to John Deere operations in Waterloo, Iowa, as well as Mexico, France and Argentina.
Elgin was recognized as a John Deere “Partner-level Supplier” based on its ability to provide products and service of outstanding quality as well as its commitment to continuous improvement. Elgin President Bill Skok and Vice President of Operations Dan Gathman accepted the award during a mid-February ceremony in Davenport, Iowa.
“Our success is measured not only in every part we deliver, but in the level of service and support our team members provide each day,” Skok said. “Achieving John Deere Partner-level Supplier status is a source of great pride for everyone within the Elgin Industries family.”
Suppliers participating in the Achieving Excellence Program are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and “wavelength,” which is a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the program in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.
