EnerSys Expands ODYSSEY Performance Series Battery Product Line, New Models Available This Fall

Available at online store kiosk, SEMA Show, booth No. 24863, Central Hall.

READING, Pa. — EnerSys announced the addition of three ODYSSEY Performance Series batteries, available for purchase this fall. The ODYSSEY Performance Series 34-790 and 78-790 batteries will launch in October and the ODYSSEY Performance Series 65-760 battery in November of this year. The new battery models are designed specifically for consumer passenger and commercial vans, custom and classic cars, SUVs and diesel trucks, the company says.

EnerSys is offering a special discounted rate for ODYSSEY battery orders placed at the 2013 SEMA Show (Nov. 5 – Nov. 8, 2013) via the ODYSSEY Battery online store kiosk. Visit the ODYSSEY Battery Booth No. 24863 in Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center for more details.

ODYSSEY Performance Series batteries are designed specifically for consumer applications, which do not require as many cold cranking amps (CCA) and reserve capacity (RC) minutes as ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries. However, they are designed with the same rugged construction and offer equivalent deep cycling capabilities, long service life and high reliability, the company says. Also, they deliver more deep cycling capabilities for parasitic loads than conventional batteries.

The ODYSSEY Performance Series 34-790 and 78-790 batteries feature 792 CCA and 114 RC minutes and the ODYSSEY Performance Series 65-760 battery features 762 CCA and 129 RC minutes. All three ODYSSEY Performance Series batteries feature deep cycle capability up to 400 cycles at 80 percent depth of discharge, a three- to 10-year service life and two-year storage life at 77 degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius). The batteries are vibration resistant, classified as “non-spillable” by the U.S. Department of Transportation and include a four-year full replacement warranty.

“ODYSSEY Performance Series batteries provide what most applications need for reliable, everyday performance, and is an ideal battery choice for consumers,” said Dave McMullen, director of commercial marketing for specialty and UPS markets at EnerSys. “We are offering a side-by-side comparison at the SEMA Show, so we encourage attendees to stop by booth no. 24863 in Central Hall to learn which battery is the best choice for your application.”

ODYSSEY Performance Series batteries correspond to Battery Council International (BCI) Group 34 (ODYSSEY 34-790 battery), Group 78 (ODYSSEY 78-790) and Group 65 (ODYSSEY 65-760).
