Federated Member Automotive Jobbers Supply Hosts ‘Ken Schrader Invitational’ In Spokane

More than 2,000 customers, employees, fans attend racing extravaganza.

STAUNTON, Va. — What do you do when a racing legend is in the neighborhood?  Create your own racing event.  That is what Federated member Automotive Jobbers Supply did when they hosted the “Ken Schrader Invitational” on June 21 at the Spokane County Raceway.  Although the NASCAR legend and venerable Federated spokesman did not race, Schrader did make it a night to remember for more than 2,000 automotive jobbers supply customers, employees and Spokane-area race fans.

“Kenny Schrader was in Oregon and Washington racing the Federated dirt track car the week of June 18 and, even though we have no NASCAR track or dirt track in our area, he still brought his racing team and vehicles to help us put on a very memorable event,” said Tim Trudnowski, president of Automotive Jobbers Supply.

The Spokane County Raceway Park usually does not have racing on Thursday nights, but Trudnowski and his staff created the “Ken Schrader Invitational” and put together a racing schedule including Pony Stocks, Road Runners and Hobby Stocks in recognition of Schrader’s visit to Spokane.  At the event, Schrader signed autographs between races and went down to the pits to visit with every driver and race team.  As part of the evening’s festivities, Automotive Jobbers Supply also gave away Federated Racing hats to 250 lucky fans.

“Ken and his team represented our company and Federated better than we ever could have imagined,” said Trudnowski.  “So many of the drivers, as well as the fans, were astounded that a racing legend would take the time to visit and talk with them.  We want to thank Kenny and everyone at Federated for helping us put this together.”
