FRAM Filtration Ramps Up For 2014 Summer Mobile Tour

In addition to an expanded appearance schedule, FRAM today unveiled a new design for its popular mobile unit focused on consumer education: The FRAM traveling unit will help teach consumers the right way to choose an oil or air filter and how to take good care of their vehicles.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. – U.S. oil filter brand FRAM will be crisscrossing the nation, from Concord, N.C., to Minnesota and back to Atlanta, for its 2014 summer mobile tour. The FRAM mobile education unit – which includes a sprinter van and 24-foot mobile trailer – traveled more than 10,000 miles during its inaugural tour in 2013, visiting training centers, retail locations and popular auto enthusiast events. In addition to an expanded appearance schedule, FRAM today unveiled a new design for its popular mobile unit focused on consumer education: The FRAM traveling unit will help teach consumers the right way to choose an oil or air filter and how to take good care of their vehicles.

“The FRAM mobile unit and summer tour is an important, personal way for us to connect with FRAM’s core consumers,” said Josh Gordon, marketing director for FRAM Filtration. “Whether we’re meeting with DIYers at a car enthusiast event, or working with shop owners, trainers or technicians in their natural environment, the interactive displays and flexible footprint give us the tools we need to communicate in new and entertaining ways.”

To kick off the summer tour, the FRAM mobile education unit will participate in the seven-day Hot Rod Power Tour, beginning June 6. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2014, the Hot Rod Power Tour will feature more than 4,500 cars traveling across seven states from the Charlotte Motor Speedway to Wisconsin Dells, Wis. An estimated 75,000 spectators are expected.

Next, the FRAM mobile education unit will participate in major auto enthusiast events including Car Craft Street Machine Nationals, Car Craft Summer Nationals, the Woodward Dream Cruise and NOPI Nationals. Video screens and interactive air and oil filter displays make the mobile education unit a valuable training tool, FRAM says. FRAM’s hands-on air filter display illustrates how an air filter helps eliminate dirt and dust particles from a vehicle’s airflow, and the FRAM oil filter display uses fiber optics to trace the path of oil through an engine and filter. Each display also features cutaway examples of FRAM’s oil and air filters. The new exterior design for the mobile education unit displays FRAM, Prestone and Autolite branding, offering consumers a comprehensive look at automotive care.
