ATLANTA Thomas Gallagher, chairman, president and CEO of Genuine Parts Co. (GPC), has announced the election of Robert “Robin” Loudermilk Jr., as a new director of the company. Loudermilk is currently president and CEO of Aarons Inc. Aarons Inc., a NYSE company, is the nation’s leader in sales and lease ownership, including specialty retailing of office furniture, home furnishings, appliances and electronics.
Loudermilk has held the position of president and chief operating officer at Aaron’s for 13 years and has been CEO for two years. Loudermilk has served as a director of the company since 1983.
“Robin Loudermilk is a successful executive with a wealth of business experience and knowledge,” Gallagher said. “We are fortunate to have him joining our board and we look forward to his contributions in the coming years.”
In other news, GPC’s board of directors has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of 41 cents per share on the company’s common stock. The dividend is payable Oct. 1 to shareholders of record Sept. 10.
