Icahn Automotive Group Buys BS&F Auto Parts of New York City

BS&F owner Joe Ferrer, who started working in his father's auto parts business when he was 11, has become the regional vice president of commercial for Icahn Automotive Group in the New York City metropolitan area.

The buying spree continues for Icahn Automotive Group.

The company, which owns Pep Boys and Federal-Mogul Motorparts, recently scooped up BS&F Auto Parts, a New York City-based auto parts supplier. BS&F has been in business for 37 years.

BS&F owner Joe Ferrer, who started working in his father’s auto parts business when he was 11, has become the regional vice president of commercial for Icahn Automotive Group in the New York City metropolitan area.

“With Joe Ferrer’s drive and passion for being unsurpassed in customer service and parts availability, Pep Boys, Auto Plus and BS&F have an excellent opportunity to drive commercial growth in the region,” Icahn Automotive Group said in a news release.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Ferrer was featured in a short-lived reality TV series called “Hard Parts: South Bronx,” which focused on his commitment to having a well-stocked inventory of parts –even hard-to-find parts – and the lengths to which he will go to solve customers’ automotive problems.

Ferrer also has made a number of commercials in which he talks about his roots in the community and the history of the business.

Earlier this year, Icahn Automotive Group acquired American Driveline Systems, the franchisor of AAMCO and Cottman Transmission & Total Auto Care service centers.
