DES MOINES, Iowa GCommerce, a provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), has announced that Integrated Supply Network Inc. (ISN), a wholesale distributor and supply chain services provider, is adopting the GCommerce Virtual Inventory Cloud (VIC) solution, which is built on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
VIC is a centralized virtual data warehouse that gives distributors/retailers and manufacturers/suppliers the tools to automate the special/drop-ship order process with multiple trading partners.
“What is unique about ISN’s situation is that they utilize VIC on both the buy-side and the sell-side,” said Steve Smith, GCommerce president and CEO. “VIC allows them to automate the special order process as both a buyer and a seller, thereby providing benefits to both their customers and vendors in addition to their internal improvements.”
As one of the nation’s largest independent tool and equipment specialists, ISN manages a vast inventory of products from many of the most recognized brands. It serves as a supplier to both parts stores and mobile distributors around the world.
“With VIC, ISN and our vendors will see a 100-fold return on our investment, by creating an end-to-end special order process with one-tenth the people, at one-tenth the cost in one-tenth the time,” said Pete Weber, managing partner at ISN. “ISN and our vendors see a huge cost and economic advantage of utilizing a seamless platform to match demand without incurring massive capital outlays. GCommerce and VIC will alleviate major obstacles for our industry, bringing solutions for us as a company and also our customers and business partners this is a success for our industry.”
In other news, GCommerce has announced a new agreement with Modern Sales Co-op (MSC) to help the group automate the procurement process between its members and vendors.
MSC is a Canadian co-operative with more than 300 member locations from coast to coast and more than 300 vendors from around the globe. Members purchase product both from the MSC warehouses and directly from vendors, while the vendor invoices are sent centrally to MSC for payment, as one of many value-added services to both members and vendors.
