Learn About ASE Certification In Counterman/ASE Webinar Series

The five-part webinar series kicks off at 2 p.m. Eastern time on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and Babcox Media’s AMN/Counterman are proud to present a five-part webinar series: “ASE Certification for Parts Professionals: Everything You Need to Prepare.”

ASE certification helps parts professionals prove their abilities to themselves, their employers and their customers. Being an ASE-certified professional can mean better pay, increased job opportunities and improved status with your employer. Through the free webinar series, counter personnel will learn about the ASE P2 test, how it’s developed and what they can do to maximize their chances of success.

The webinars in the series, all of which begin at 2 p.m. Eastern time, are:

Part 1: “So You Want to Get Certified?”

Wednesday, Aug. 19

If you’re thinking about pursuing ASE certification, this webinar will provide helpful information about: the organization that administers the tests; the benefits of ASE certification; the tests available to parts specialists and others in the automotive aftermarket; and the testing/certification process.

Part 2: “Get Ready For Your ASE Test”

Thursday, Sept. 10

Attendees will learn tips and best practices to prepare for the ASE P1 and/or P2 tests, and discover resources that are available to help you. This session will cover the structure of ASE sets, insight into the psychology of test taking, and tips on how to make the most of your preparation time.

Part 3: “Who Wrote That Stupid Question Anyway?”

Thursday, Oct. 15

A panel of subject-matter experts and ASE technical staff will provide insight into the process of developing and updating ASE certification tests. Learn about the ASE test-writing workshops, and the level of thought that goes into wording questions to ensure that the tests provide a fair assessment of the test-taker’s knowledge and skills.

Part 4: “Customer Relations and Sales Skills”

Wednesday, Nov. 11

Customer relations and sales skills are critical elements of success behind the counter -– and on the ASE P2 test. In this webinar, attendees will get a better understanding of what aspects of customer relations and sales skills are covered on the ASE P2, and  learn tips for honing these skills.

Part 5: “Cataloging and Inventory Management”

Tuesday, Dec. 15

Cataloging and inventory management are essential skills for a parts specialist. Without them, parts pros could be leaving sales opportunities on the table. In this webinar, you will understand the fundamental elements of cataloging, inventory management and merchandising that are covered in the ASE P2 test. Along the way, you’ll learn tips on how to hone these valuable skills.
