MEMA Technology Council Fall Conference To Feature Product Data Course For Suppliers

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Tom Frey from the Automotive Distribution Network (ADN) will instruct suppliers on the collective needs of distributors on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the 2011 Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) Technology Council (MTC) Fall Conference. The conference will be held at the Marco Island Marriott in Marco Island, Fla.

The product data course is one of the featured topics slated for this year’s MTC Fall Conference, which will be held Sunday, Oct. 16, through Wednesday, Oct. 19.

“The session will focus on content, including what information distributors want from suppliers and why and how the information provided by suppliers is used throughout the distribution channel,” said Frey. “The intent is to help improve the completeness and accuracy of information sent to distributors, reducing channel costs.”

“This course will be taught by Tom on behalf of the distributor community and will help suppliers learn how to provide product information,” added Chris Gardner, MTC group executive and vice president, programs and member services, for the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA). “It is an outstanding opportunity to learn firsthand what the collective community of WDs need in their product attribute data submissions, which will streamline supplier processes.”

The course will review each of the product attributes in the AWDA Minimum Product Data Requirement. In addition to usage rules, the presentation will provide attendees with the resources needed to follow the rules and will use real world examples to illustrate their necessity.

Along with product data management training, other conference highlights will include:

• Keynote – Aftermarket 2020 & Technology Implications – Steve Handschuh, president & COO, AASA

• Member Spotlight – Delphi Product Service & Solutions

• Utilizing Emerging Technology Trends to Align Strategies

• Agile Development

• Customer presentations

• Annual Banquet on the Beach

• OptiCat Users Meeting
Pricedex Software is the Premier Sponsor for the event. OptiCat is an Elite Sponsor.

The first registration for MTC member companies is free, and additional employees can attend at a discounted rate. Channel partners (warehouse distributors, groups and retailers) can attend for half the normal registration fee.
