New VDO PRT Tach And 356 Replica Gauges Debuted At 2014 Hot Rod and Restoration Show

Company presents a full line of instruments and accessories at show.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Continental Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket, manufacturer and supplier of VDO OE-engineered instrumentation and replacement parts for the custom truck and car enthusiast market, introduced two new gauges this past weekend at the Hot Rod and Restoration Show in Indianapolis, Ind. The new products include the VDO PRT Tachometer and VDO 356 Replica gauges.

The 10,000 rpm VDO PRT Tachometer features configurations for 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder engine applications. It has a resettable shift point and a built-in shift light indicator. The tach is available in white dial face with silver bezel and a black onyx dial face with black bezel. It is pre-wired and comes with an adjustable mount that allows for multiple mounting options and positions.

The new VDO 356 Replica Gauges are designed to match the style of a classic vehicle. The gauges include a 120-mph speedometer with a built-in LCD with odometer and trip odometer. A combination water temp and fuel gauge includes built-in tell-tale indicators for battery, high beam and oil pressure. An 8,000-rpm tachometer rounds out the display and includes telltale indicators for turn signals, parking brake and fog light. The gauges are offered in a standard 4-inch diameter.

In addition to the two new gauges, Continental showcased the full lineup of VDO instrumentation and accessories, including the VDO Gauges2Go app, which allows users to check the VDO Gauges Catalog and preview VDO Gauges as they would appear in the dashboard; VDO Camera Systems, which help eliminate blind spots and give the driver a more complete view around the vehicle, VDO GPS Speed Sender, which can easily convert any VDO electronic speedometer into an incredibly accurate GPS-driven speedometer and the CB500 Instrument Cluster, an innovative OEM grade configuration that features all of the instrumentation required to deliver the critical engine data in a compact design that provides an ideal fit for builds with limited dashboard space or dashboards made from ABS plastic or fiberglass.
