KANSAS CITY, Mo.Automotive Parts Associates (APA) has announced that one of its founding owners and former president Joseph G. Buehler passed away on April 21.
Buehler retired as APA’s president in August 1999. According to APA, his sense of humor and outgoing personality will forever be remembered. “Joe never knew a stranger and had great relationships throughout the industry,” the group noted.
According to his obituary in the Kansas City Star, Buehler, 73, began his career in the automotive industry in Great Bend, Kan., with Sears. He was transferred to Joplin, Mo., in 1968 and then to Kansas City in 1971. He was also employed with Bumper to Bumper Stores before becoming a part owner of APA.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Darlene; four sons: Doug Buehler, Darrin Buehler and wife, Lori; and Derek Buehler and wife, Lori, all of Kansas City; David Buehler and wife, Lisa Buehler, Lansing Kan.; daughter, Debra Bryson and husband, Brad, of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by 13 grandsons.
