OptiCat Announces Charley Johnson As New CEO

Respected industry executive will direct operations of supplier-centric global data management company.

 

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – The Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA), a market segment of MEMA, and TecAlliance today announced that Charley Johnson, well-known automotive aftermarket leader, has been appointed as the new CEO of OptiCat, the supplier-centric global data management company.  OptiCat is owned by MEMA, TecAlliance and key supplier investors.

“Charley is recognized in this industry for his broad-based global experience at the executive level,” said Bill Long, president and COO of AASA. “His skills, leadership and passion for the aftermarket will guide OptiCat as it achieves its vision of enabling the vital flow of data to channel partners from suppliers.”

“Charley’s expertise in building and fostering relationships will be an invaluable tool in OptiCat’s future growth,” added David Winter, vice president, sales and marketing, of TecAlliance. “He will provide critical strategic direction and leadership to the OptiCat team.”

Johnson has extensive experience in the aftermarket and has led both private and public organizations as CEO and director. Currently the founding partner in BC Partners LLC, his prior experience includes serving as CEO, president and director of Proliance International Inc. and CEO, president and director, Canadian General Tower.

He also has a distinguished record of service to the industry. Johnson has served as a member of the MEMA Board of Directors since 2002, including a term as board chairman in 2008, and currently serves as a member of its finance committee. He was a driving force in the establishment of AASA and served two terms as the group’s first chairman from 2002 until 2004. Johnson also has served as chairman of the Automotive Industry Government Action Council’s environmental group.
