HOUSTON — Pennzoil announced the donation of $75,000 to Paralyzed Veterans of America. The funds, raised from a September oil change promotion at participating Jiffy Lube locations across the U.S., will be used to support Paralyzed Veterans of America’s mission to positively change the lives of our nation’s veterans with disabilities.
“One of our greatest accomplishments at Pennzoil has been our three-year relationship with Paralyzed Veterans of America,” said Doug Kooyman, Pennzoil global brand manager. “Through this organization, we’ve had the unique opportunity to directly impact helping disabled veterans regain some of their freedoms, self-expression and independence. This next level support to our disabled veterans is an important cause to both Pennzoil and Jiffy Lube.”
The continued relationship between Pennzoil and Paralyzed Veterans of America has enabled Paralyzed Veterans of America to advocate on behalf of our nation’s veterans with disabilities to ensure they receive quality health care and the necessary benefits and tools to secure good careers. The organization also seeks to make America more accessible for disabled veterans and provide opportunities for participation in rehabilitative sports and recreational activities to help foster some of the freedoms that may have been stripped away due to injury.
“We are grateful for generous supporters such as Pennzoil and Jiffy Lube that provide our organization the resources to empower our members to move, heal and reintegrate into life,” said Al Kovach Jr., national president of Paralyzed Veterans of America. “These long-standing relationships allow us year after year to provide services to veterans and their families and caregivers free of charge.”
Consumers did their part to support the donation by visiting local participating Jiffy Lube service centers for oil changes using Pennzoil Synthetics during the month of September. For those who purchased either Pennzoil Platinum or Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Full Synthetic motor oils, Pennzoil pledged to donate $10 per vehicle to Paralyzed Veterans of America, for a maximum donation of $75,000.
Earlier in 2015, Pennzoil made a surprise donation of $22,222 to Paralyzed Veterans of America in celebration of NASCAR driver Joey Logano’s Daytona 500 victory on 2/22 in the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion.
