PENDLETON, Ind. — Remy International Inc., manufacturer of Remy light duty starters and alternators, as well as Delco Remy heavy-duty starters and alternators, has introduced 31 new light duty part numbers for the first quarter of 2015.

These starters and alternators are for model years 2013 and 2014, adding coverage for 2.1 million vehicles in operation. Remy has substantially strengthened its late-model import coverage: 1.3 million vehicles are imports, including VW, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Subaru, and Honda. 800,000 are domestic, including Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Cadillac, Buick, Chrysler and Jeep.

“Our first priority is to be a valuable partner to our customers,” said Remy SVP for Aftermarket Sales, Dave Nichols. “Analyzing and anticipating their inventory requirements is a big part of what we do. We’re introducing late-model applications because we know they’ll need them to meet the ever-increasing demands of their end customers. We plan to double the number of new products released in the 2nd quarter.”

Being one of the few aftermarket suppliers of rotating electrics that is also a global tier one original equipment provider, Remy is first-to-market with these parts. In 2014, Remy added 206 new light-duty part numbers, providing coverage for 52.9 million vehicles.

“It’s gratifying to know that we have the most comprehensive coverage of starters and alternators available for the aftermarket, and it’s exciting to add steering components, CV axles, brake calipers, and other parts to our multiline holdings,” continued Nichols. “But, for us, the real win lies in helping to make our aftermarket channel partners successful. It’s our job to provide top quality and availability and we intend to continue to expand our portfolio.”
