BOUCHERVILLE, Quebec Uni-Select Inc. has announced that Robert Chevrier, FCA, and James Buzzard have been nominated to join the company’s board of directors.
The directors’ election will take place during Uni-Select’s Annual General and Special Meeting of Shareholders on May 8 in Montreal. Chevrier and Buzzard are nominees proposed by the directors of the corporation. The board intends to appoint Chevrier as chairman following the election. From 1983 to 1990, Chevrier was president of Uni-Select. Under his leadership, the corporation initiated its growth strategy through acquisitions.
Subsequently, Robert Chevrier has led Rexel Canada Inc. He now acts as a corporate director. Buzzard has held various positions at Uni-Select since the acquisition of his family business, MAWDI, in 2004. He has held various board offices in several organizations in the distribution of automotive parts.
Jean-Louis Dulac, current chairman of Uni-Select, will retire after the Annual Meeting of Shareholders. He is a founding member of the corporation. Jeanne Wojas, Clay E. Buzzard and Joseph Felicelli also will retire from the board at the same meeting.
