ALLENTOWN, Pa. MAM Software Inc. announced that Smith Auto Parts has selected Autopart to manage its multi-warehouse, multi-store auto parts business. The company is upgrading to Autopart to streamline its business processes and provide the platform for future growth.
Smith Auto Parts, a member of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, serves customers in the south San Joaquin Valley of central California. The company started in 1933 by 18-year-old Elmer Smith, with $15 and a need to provide for his family. In 1982, the company was sold to Ron Cochran, an employee with Smith Auto for over 30 years. Today, Smith Auto has two warehouse locations and four additional store locations; providing auto parts to repair shops and retail customers.
Autopart will replace Smith Auto’s current business system to manage their inventory, handle their sales, cash management, accounting, purchasing and reporting. It will provide a comprehensive solution and allow Smith Auto to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.
“Our current system has served us well over the years,” says Jon Cochran, president of Smith Auto. "We recognize that in recent years we have had to do more and more ‘work arounds’ to keep-up with the changes in our business. We decided it was time to embrace new technology and provide our company the tools it needs to grow and prosper. After a detailed evaluation of the leading solutions; we chose Autopart."
"Smith Auto has an exceptional team with a clear vision of how they want their business to run," says Brian Allibon, president of MAM Software. "It is another successful Alliance member that has decided to partner with us and we look forward to working with them to help them improve their operation while continuing to improve our software solution as well."
