Standard Motor Products (SMP) has hired Jack Ramsey as its new vice president of engine management marketing and sales.

Prior to joining SMP, Ramsey spent 26 years at Gates Corp., where he held a number of increasingly responsible positions in sales, product management and marketing, most recently serving as Gates Corp.’s senior vice president, automotive replacement North America.

Throughout his career, Ramsey has been responsible for sales, product management, pricing, advertising, catalog and data delivery, category management and all other marketing activities to the light-duty automotive and heavy-duty replacement channels in the United States and Canada.

Ramsey will lead SMP’s Engine Management and Wire & Cable marketing and training group, and also will assume sales and marketing responsibility for SMP’s Blue Streak-Hygrade business in Canada.
