TAIPEI, Taiwan – Taiwan’s annual 4-in-1 mega automotive and motorcycle show kicked off Wednesday here in two separate locations in the city.

The combined shows – Taipei International Auto Parts & Accessories Show (AMPA), Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei), Taiwan International Electric Vehicle Show (EV Taiwan) and the Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show – are taking place at the Nangang Exhibition Center and the Taipei World Trade Center.

Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang, chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), organizer of the shows, addressed attendees of the opening ceremony Wednesday morning, saying that the success of the show has led organizers to expand to nearby exhibition halls to accommodate vendors.

AMPA and AutoTronics Taipei alone have a combined 1,131 exhibitors with 3,188 booths. AMPA is in its 32nd year. Buyers from many countries attend, including the United States, Canada, Israel, China, Malaysia, Mexico, Turkey and Poland. In addition, several South American buyers are in attendance.

Fu-Hsiong Cheng, vice chairman of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (TEEMA), a show partner, said, “It is evident that global car electronics output value will experience continuous growth, which is why Taiwan’s auto parts manufacturers must pay serious attention and adjust their long-term development plans accordingly.”

“The steady growth of the American economy will also indirectly drive increased domestic demand for auto parts and components,” he said.
