A new study conducted by Rerev reveals that the Tesla Cybertruck is the most widely searched electric vehicle set to debut in 2023, with a total of 1.85 million Google searches in the past two months.
The Cybertruck’s search volume was eight times higher than that of the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, which received 231,510 monthly searches and secured second place on the list.
Despite the DeLorean Alpha being the electric successor to the iconic car featured in the “Back to the Future” trilogy, the Alpha ranks at the bottom of the list with a search volume of only 14,700.
The Rerev study involved gathering and analyzing Google search data on the most anticipated electric cars over the past two months. Google search data revealed Tesla Cybertruck as the most anticipated EV, with search volume spiking after Elon Musk’s Feb. 23 Twitter video filmed at Tesla Engineering Headquarters. Within 24 hours, the video received 27.2 million views, more than 10,000 retweets, and more than 157,000 likes.
Cybertruck emerged at the top of the list with the highest search volume for phrases such as “Cybertruck release date,” “Tesla Cybertruck price,” “Cybertruck news,” “Tesla electric truck” and numerous other variations. Furthermore, the search term “Tesla Cybertruck” alone witnessed a recent surge of 49% in the last three months.
The Mercedes-EQS SUV ranks second with a search volume of 231,510, which is eight times smaller than the search volume for Tesla’s Cybertruck. The search queries encompassed various related terms such as “Mercedes EQS SUV,” “Mercedes EQS SUV price,” “EQS SUV release date” and “Mercedes EQS SUV release date.”
Ranked third in the search rankings, the Jeep Avenger is the brand’s first-ever electric vehicle, with a search volume of 173,480.
Securing a fourth position in the rankings, theAudi A6 e-Tron closely follows the other leading vehicles in the list with a search volume of 128,690. Car enthusiasts seem to be excited about this electric version of the renowned A6 series, which boasts features and capabilities that are just as appealing as its traditional counterpart.
Ranking fifth on the list is the Kia EV9, with a search volume of 79,490. Kia’s innovative concept of a car for everyone has helped the EV9 make it into the top five.
