TRW Launches Brake Pad Wear Sensors Into North American Aftermarket To Complement Premium Friction Program

WIXOM, Mich. — TRW’s North American (NA) Aftermarket Group has launched a range of Original Equipment (OE) quality brake pad wear sensors to complement its leading all-makes friction program. This news supports TRW’s position as a leading global supplier of safety-critical braking parts and systems.

when the brake pads become too low.

“Because we understand that automotive components do not work in isolation, at TRW, we think
in terms of systems,” said Mark Thorpe, product and marketing group manager, TRW Aftermarket North
America. “The quality of one component can have a significant bearing on the performance of another so we design, develop and manufacture our parts to work in harmony with each other.”

The initial range of 44 parts caters to 48 percent of the North American car parc and covers a number of makes and models both past and present, including many late-model applications: 2014 BMW 650i; 2014 Audi A Series; 2014 Audi Q5; 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 and 2014 Volkswagen Touareg.

“By choosing TRW’s friction program together with our brake pad wear sensors the next time a brake pad change is due, you will achieve the safest possible combination of parts. And because we also make the technologies that sit behind the parts, you’re benefiting from more than 100 years of engineering excellence. Giving flawless operation, genuine TRW brake pad wear sensors are direct OE replacements with perfect fit, finish and function," Thorpe said.
