why does it suck so much working at parts stores?

I’ve been at this for 29 years and there is nothing better in my mind! Sounds like you’re young and haven’t had a lot of experience in the real world. If you think your job sucks that much, you need to find something else you enjoy and pursue that. If you look at your job as "just a job", you won’t go anywhere and you sure won’t be successful. Find something you really enjoy an make a "career" out of it, and your life will be much happier! And no, selling parts doesn’t suck!
