WIX Filters Announces The 2019 Counter Professional Of The Year

The Counter Professional of the Year award, sponsored by WIX Filters and presented during AAPEX in Las Vegas, annually recognizes an automotive and aftermarket parts professional who exceeds expectations, continually pursues advanced training and is both a superior parts professional and an ambassador for the aftermarket.

WIX Filters and Counterman magazine named Pete Chapman of Car Parts Warehouse the 2019 Counter Professional of the Year.

“WIX is proud to award Mr. Chapman with this year’s award. He is more than deserving, as he continually conducts himself in a professional manner while helping with his customers’ needs,” said Mike Lerch, brand manager for WIX Filters. “He continually showcases all the characteristics of a leader that WIX is proud to stand behind and support.”

Chapman, the manager of the Car Parts Warehouse facility in Warrensville Heights, Ohio, started wrenching on cars at an early age in his dad’s auto repair shop. Leveraging his automotive knowledge, affable personality and customer-first mindset, Chapman has become the top-selling counter associate in the Car Parts Warehouse family.

Every day, Chapman lives by the principles instilled by his father, Elvin, who owned a repair shop in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and his mother, Mary, who taught him to be fair, treat people as equals and always follow the Golden Rule.

“In the course of a day, I don’t have any indecision,” Chapman said. “There’s never a point when I think to myself, ‘Should I do it this way or should I do it that way?’ I already have the answer.”

As part of the Counter Professional of the Year award, Chapman and his wife, Laura, received an all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas for AAPEX 2019. Counterman presented the award to Chapman at the WIX Filters and Babcox Media Night of Excellence at Mercato della Pescheria in St. Mark’s Square.
