WIX Filters, Counterman Magazine Name Counter Professional Of The Year

Raymond Guffey of The Parts House in Jacksonville, Fla., receives 2013 honor.

LAS VEGAS — WIX Filters, a member of the Affinia Group family of brands, in conjunction with Counterman magazine, named Raymond Guffey of The Parts House in Jacksonville, Fla., the 2013 “Counter Professional of the Year” at the AWDA conference on Nov. 4 in Las Vegas.

120772guffeypng_00000070225“The automotive parts distribution channel does not function properly without a trusted resource between the counter and customer,” said Mike Harvey, brand manager for WIX Filters. “Raymond is such a resource for his customers and his reliability, attitude of perseverance and focus on the customer exemplifies what it means to be a Counter Professional of the Year.”

Guffey, a 22-year automotive aftermarket parts professional, is operations manager for The Parts House, a locally-owned and operated wholesale, warehouse distributor of premium automotive and heavy duty truck parts and accessories.

“I consider myself a partner with my customers,” he said. “They put a lot of faith and trust in me and The Parts House, and I don’t take my interactions with those on the other side of my counter lightly. Our business is built on people and relationships, so it is quite an honor to hear that these principles were a factor in my selection as Counter Professional of the Year.”

Guffey, an ASE-certified parts professional, was nominated Counter Professional of the Year by The Parts House. The award recognizes an automotive aftermarket parts professional who goes above the call of duty; continually seeks advanced training; is an example of the consummate parts professional; and is an ambassador for the aftermarket.

In nominating Guffey, his colleagues noted that he joined The Parts House in 1999 and his “hard work and willingness to help satisfy customer needs quickly led him to the customer service department. Through his continued dedication to taking care of customers, Raymond is a consummate counter professional at The Parts House, where he leads our counterman team. He displays all of the characteristics needed to be a successful, top-performing counter person – he is passionate, confident, dedicated, focused, organized and a superb example of a true team player.”

Counterman magazine’s Counter Professional of the Year Award is sponsored by Affinia Group Inc., WIX Filters and Raybestos Chassis.
