Professionals Choice

LENEXA, Kan. – From July to September, Automotive Parts Associates (APA) shareholders gave their customers the chance to win a trip to Orlando, Fla., for the Richard Petty Exotic Driving Experience. The winners’ prize packages included airfare, ground transfers, two nights at Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club, spending cash, park hopper passes and the opportunity to drive exotic cars including Lamborghinis, Ferraris and GTRs.

The winners were Kody Talbert from Gasoline Alley Tune Up in Indianapolis, Ind.; Mauro Garcia from Mauro’s Auto Repair in Philadelphia, Pa.; Trent Slayden with Slayden Auto Repair in Taylor Ridge, Ill.; and Claude Gottwald with CRG Auto Repair in Mokena, Ill. The weekend before Thanksgiving, each winner brought a guest and escaped the cold wet weather that was hammering much of the country. While the driving experience was rained out, the winners still enjoyed a fireworks cruise at Epcot, a special breakfast in the garage and exploring all the parks. APA also gave the winners a choice of a certificate to use for a future Richard Petty Driving Experience or the cash equivalent as a rainout concession.

Winners were selected from tens of thousands of entries. Each time a customer purchased a part from one of the sponsoring manufacturers, they received an entry form from the participating APA shareholder. Sponsoring manufacturers were: ACDelco, Airtex Fuel, Akebono, ASC, Autolite, BBB Industries, Beck/Arnley, Bosch, DENSO, Dorman, Exide, Federal-Mogul, FRAM, Gates, KYB, Loctite, MAS, Permatex, Prestone, SKF, Smitty’s, Trico and SACHS ‐ ZF Services.

APA’s current promotion – “Win Place Show” – runs from Nov. 28 through Feb. 14. The two winners of this promotion will each receive a trip to the Kentucky Derby. Other winners will receive Target gift cards.
