Inland Truck Parts & Service Celebrates 75th Anniversary

Originally founded in 1944 in Minneapolis as Industrial & Truck Parts in 1944, the employee-owned company has expanded its footprint throughout the Midwest and Great Plains.

Inland Truck Parts & Service (ITP), an Overland Park, Kansas-based provider of parts, remanufacturing and repair for light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, is celebrating its 75th anniversary.

Originally founded in 1944 in Minneapolis as Industrial & Truck Parts in 1944, the employee-owned company has expanded its footprint throughout the Midwest and Great Plains.

In February 1975, Industrial & Truck Parts merged with Nebraska Parts Co., changing its name to Inland Truck Parts Co. a year later. Over the next five decades, ITP expanded by acquiring new companies or opening stores throughout the South and Great Plains, spanning 40 locations in 13 states.

“We’re extremely proud of everything ITP has been able to accomplish,” said Greg Klein, president of ITP. “It’s really a testament to the can-do attitude of our employee owners and the fact that we’re always willing to go the extra mile. I’m looking forward to watching this company grow in the years to come.”

In July 2018, ITP acquired Denver-based Drive Train Industries, gaining an additional eight locations in three states. The combined company currently has more than 850 employees.

“For three-quarters of a century, ITP has expanded our resources, refined our services and evolved to meet the needs of our customers,” Klein said. “Today, we’re well-positioned to be the go-to resource for any kind of truck parts, reman or shop service.”
