KYB Americas Announces New Manufacturing Plant

The new plant is currently under construction with completion set for December 2013. Actual manufacturing in the new plant is slated to start in 2014. The plant is expected to add 130 employees once completed.

ADDISON, Ill. — KYB Americas, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of shocks, struts and hydraulic components, announced the continued expansion of North American operations via a new manufacturing plant in Silao, Guanajuanto, Mexico. The plant will begin by manufacturing hydraulic pumps for automobile continuously variable transmissions. In the future the plant will also manufacture automotive shocks, struts and steering components, the company said.

The new plant is currently under construction with completion set for December 2013. Actual manufacturing in the new plant is slated to start in 2014. The plant is expected to add 130 employees once completed.
 
“Over the last 10 years, KYB has been very aggressive in expanding our capabilities and operations in North America and this new plant is a confirmation of our continued commitment,” said KYB Americas Vice President Mike Fiorito. “We’re particularly excited about the KYB manufacturing technologies and quality control processes that are being integrated into the design of this new plant. The plant will produce the very same high-quality premium products that KYB customers expect.”
