Kyle Busch Wins At Watkins Glen With Raybestos Brakes

Second victory at the 2.45-mile road course and the 27th of his career.

MCHENRY, Ill. — Kyle Busch drove to his third NASCAR Sprint Cup victory of the season at Sunday’s Cheez-It 355 at Watkins Glen International. Under the stopping power of Raybestos brakes, Busch drove his No. 18 M&Ms Toyota to victory lane, edging out Brad Keselowski for the victory in a two-lap shootout.
Busch nearly won the race a year ago, but a late accident took him out of the lead.

Sunday’s race was much more advantageous, as he remained in the top five through the day’s first two cautions. Busch successfully avoided a variety of wrecks and used several cautions to better his advantage. “Kyle did an amazing job to holding off Keselowski,” said crew chief Dave Rogers. “He steadily increased his lead and took it all the way until the end. It was a hard fought, well-earned win.”

The Raybestos Racing brake package, used by NASCAR teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, combines ample stopping power with a considerable weight savings advantage on tracks like the Watkins Glen 2.45-mile Road Course.

Raybestos racing brake pads are the ultimate high-friction, high-torque racing pads. The famous Raybestos “ST” series racing compounds provide superior stopping power for championship-caliber race teams.
Raybestos Racing calipers have an optimized structure caliper architecture design and a mono-block aluminum alloy construction. They also include integral crossover cooling and progressively sized titanium pistons.

Raybestos Racing two-piece rotors are engineered to withstand the high-heat torture of short tracks and road courses; delivering the effective lightweight operation required for qualifying and superspeedway runs, the company says. Winning features include an S-groove slot design, a racing-specific vane configuration and optimized metallurgy.

For reliable performance, all Joe Gibbs Sprint Cup racecars are also equipped with Raybestos Racing ball joints and tie rods. The premium-quality chassis parts help fine-tune each car’s suspension setup for optimal grip and handling, the company says.

The lessons learned on tracks like Watkins Glen are continually translated into product improvements across the entire Raybestos product line, which includes racing, street performance, police patrol/pursuit vehicles and heavy-duty trucks.
