Johnson Controls Recognized Globally By Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

JCI is one of a few select companies named to the Indices' Automobiles & Components sector, acknowledged for its sustainability efforts.

MILWAUKEE – Johnson Controls has announced its inclusion on both the World and North America Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for 2013.

This is the ninth consecutive year Johnson Controls has been named to both DJSI indices. S&P Dow Jones Indices works in partnership with RobecoSAM, the investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing that tracks the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. Johnson Controls is the only North American company under the Automobiles & Components category named to the World Index, and one of only two companies in that category named to the North America Index.

The annual DJSI review is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing issues such as corporate governance, risk management, climate strategy, environmental policy/management systems, supply chain standards and labor practices.

"We are proud of our inclusion on these prestigious indexes," said Iain Campbell, vice president, energy, sustainability and government affairs for Johnson Controls. "Our focus on the environmental, social and governance aspects of our business and their alignment with our economic priorities is driving positive business outcomes for our corporation."
