Spectra Premium Introduces 13 New Heavy-Duty Truck Radiators

Coverage includes popular Freightliner, International and Kenworth trucks, as well as Bluebird/Carpenter buses.

BOUCHERVILLE, Quebec – Spectra Premium has announced the release of 13 new radiators for heavy-duty trucks, covering popular Freightliner, International and Kenworth trucks, as well as Bluebird/Carpenter buses. The coverage also extends to late-model trucks such as the 2013 Freightliner Cascadia Series.

In addition to being engineered, developed and validated in the company’s Canadian facilities, these 13 aluminum radiators also are manufactured in Spectra Premium’s Laval plant in Quebec, Canada. According to the company, this ensures a stringent quality control process, from development to production. Certain design improvements were performed, such as the redesigning of the OE mounting structures allowing a thermal expansion in the Spectra Premium radiator, which will eliminate tube-to-header leaks. All radiators are fit-tested on the very same trucks they are developed for to ensure a perfect fit, and utilize a brazed seam over gaskets in plastic-aluminum radiators for a more robust solution, the company says.

According to Spectra, the radiators also undergo rigorous product validation including thermal cycling tests to simulate thermal expansion and real-time operating conditions to meet the rigorous demands of the North American trucking industry.
