Dayco Recognized For Mobile App, Website At NCMA Conference

Dayco received Gold in the Web Catalog category for its newly updated website, DaycoProducts.com, and Silver in the Mobile App category for its VIN-scanning parts lookup smartphone app.

TULSA, Okla. – Dayco Products announced it has received two President’s Awards for Catalog Excellence during the National Catalog Managers Association’s (NCMA) 2014 Knowledge Exchange Conference held this week in Chandler, Ariz. Dayco received Gold in the Web Catalog category for its newly updated website, DaycoProducts.com, and Silver in the Mobile App category for its VIN-scanning parts look-up smartphone app.

“We’d like to thank the National Catalog Managers Association for recognizing our efforts in providing a continuously updated, easy-to-use catalog system on both our website and our smartphone app,” said Robert Christy, director of marketing for Dayco Products. “We understand the use of catalogs is evolving almost daily and we are honored to once again receive the President’s Award for Catalog Excellence.”

Each year during the Knowledge Exchange conference, NCMA President’s Catalog Excellence Award winners are recognized for the best examples of printed and electronic cataloging in the auto care industry. Web and mobile applications are evaluated on criteria such as design, navigation, use of technology, innovation, interactivity and quality of content, according to NCMA.

Earlier this year, Dayco launched its new website, DaycoProducts.com. The redesigned site includes many enhancements, such as parts look-up information on every page within the site, mobile optimization and multiple languages. The website also includes a blog, published by Dayco’s marketing and engineering teams, that includes solutions to all industries Dayco works in, a refreshed "Where to Buy" element that directs users to the nearest location to both buy Dayco parts and have Dayco parts installed on their vehicle, as well as Dayco’s state-of-the-art license plate parts lookup.

“The goal of DaycoProducts.com is to make all data, including cataloged application information, easily accessible to customers, potential customers and anyone else looking for solutions to problems in the industries Dayco services,” said Sherry Mathis, sales automation manager for Dayco Products.

Dayco also has made improvements to its online catalog system, including enhanced hydraulic parts lookup and related parts, videos and training when searching for specific products. Users of the new site may enter their VIN or enter their state-registered license plate number for a complete listing of available Dayco parts for that vehicle.

“This is a new feature for the automotive aftermarket and for parts lookup,” said Mathis. “Dayco is the first company to give users the ability to find replacement parts for their vehicle by simply looking up their license plate information.”

Developed in 2012, the Dayco VIN Scanning parts lookup app gives professional technicians and do-it-yourselfers instant access to a complete list of Dayco parts, routings and installation instructions that match a vehicle’s year, make and model by simply scanning the VIN barcode under the windshield or in the door jamb of the vehicle, by entering the vehicle’s license plate digits and the state of the license plate, or by speaking the VIN or license plate into the microphone within the phone. After finding the needed part or parts, app users also have complete access to part specs, routing instructions and step-by-step installation videos. With a "Where to Buy" feature, the app gives users the ability to find the closest parts store selling Dayco’s products, with store contact information and directions to the store location via a map search through the use of GPS.

Visit www.daycoapp.com to download the Dayco app and view a demonstration video of the app in use. The free app also is available in the Apple App Store, and for Android systems in the Google Play Store.
