GASTONIA, N.C. – WIX Filters introduced 334 new parts in 2014, with more than half of the new numbers serving the light- and heavy-duty premium segments. This total includes 132 premium light-duty and 109 premium heavy-duty filter applications.

“The WIX Filters legacy is built on a passion for developing new products and innovating existing offerings for our customers, and this year was no exception,” said Donald Chilton, vice president of product management for WIX. “We are constantly challenged by and excited for our industry’s future, and look forward to creating the next generation of advanced products and testing capabilities.”

Most notably, WIX added four part numbers for what WIX says is the world’s first proactive molecular hydraulic oil water absorber (a product announced late last year).

“We also released over 50 new heavy-duty fuel filters to keep up with the ever-increasing demands in the market for quality fuel protection,” Chilton said. “Today’s modern engines need increasingly precise protection and our team is here to deliver.”

WIX says it plans on offering even more coverage for the premium category, paying specific attention to its XP product line.

“With recommended drain intervals becoming longer and longer, it’s necessary for these filters to have even better protection,” Chilton added. “This is where the WIX XP product consistently delivers, and will continue to be innovated in advance of and in response to industry trends.”
