BANNOCKBURN, Ill. – With the recent introduction of the Magnum Performance Gaskets line, the MSI brand now covers “all three lives” of the classic overhead valve V8s from GM, Ford and Chrysler.

According to MSI, in the first “life” of these engines, they powered America’s favorite sedans and muscle cars from the ‘50s to the ‘70s. In their second life, these stump-pulling V8s drove an entire generation of light-duty trucks from the late ‘60s to the ‘90s – an era when passenger cars and their engines were being downsized. The third life of these classic V8s is in racing and street performance, which began in the late ‘50s and is still going strong today.

“These classic small block and big block V8s are an American tradition,” said Alex Grunfeld, executive vice president at Magnum Gaskets. “Of course, these engines evolved a great deal over the years, so Magnum’s engineers employ a variety of materials and gasket designs tailored to the requirements of the particular engine’s generation and its expected usage.”

Magnum maintains a “USA First” policy that gives priority to manufacturing and sourcing parts and materials in North America. More than 90 percent of Magnum products, including most Magnum Performance Gaskets, are designed, manufactured and packaged in the U.S. The Magnum Performance Gasket Line adds to Magnum’s wide range of coverage for domestic and import cars and trucks, including light-duty and heavy-duty diesels.
