The new facility builds on DENSO Corp.’s longstanding presence in Mexico that dates back nearly two decades when the company opened its first manufacturing plant, also in Apodaca. That number has since grown to four manufacturing plants in Mexico serving markets throughout North America.
“We’re building on a great relationship and taking our commitment to our customers in Mexico to a whole new level,” said Fran Labun, vice president of DPAM’s Sales Group. “This is a major expansion dedicated to making it easier to exceed our customer’s expectations.”
In 2011, DPAM opened its Mexico City sales office. DPAM established the new distribution center in response to strong year-over-year sales growth of its aftermarket auto parts in the Mexico marketplace. DPAM currently sells its entire selection of 26 product lines in Mexico, up from two in 2005.
The facility opened in August and has already begun shipping to customers throughout the country. Inventory at the location will grow to include DENSO’s full line of spark plugs, oxygen sensors, filters and all other replacement auto parts covering almost every vehicle make and model on the road today.
DENSO provides all its customer support materials – product and packaging information, sales literature, catalogs and other resources – in Spanish. Materials include DENSO’s newly released 2015 Spark Plug Catalog.
